i heart san francisco

We just got back from a week in San Francisco. We stayed with Jen, Danny, Nell and Gwen in Mill Valley. We took Lola on a tour of the carousels. She got to ride a double decker one at Pier 39. Papa took her to play at the Yerba Buena center and ride their carousel while I enjoyed the Frieda Kahlo exhibit at the SF Moma. We took at trip down to Santa Cruz to see our friends Grinell and Crescent and their newly adopted daughter, JiXia. Thomas and Grinell got in a little surfing while we went to see the sea lions on the pier and then we all had fun on the beach. We went to Sacramento at the end of the week to see the Seagraves. They took us to a great playground called FairyTale Town. It was great to be back in California. Lola's favorite part of the whole trip was going over the Golden Gate Bridge.

We had lots of fun with her cousins in the art house and backyard. We suffered through a few arguments about whether blue was Lola's favorite color or Charlie's. Apparently it can't be shared. We topped off the weekend with a trip to the carousel and aquarium at Opry Mills mall.

ice day at the zoo

ice day: tiger

It was Ice Day at the Nashville Zoo. They had ice sculptures, snow cones, snow making machines, free ice cream and face painting. Lola wanted to be a tiger. We waited in line for over 30 minutes. I tried to bribe her away with extra carousel rides, ice cream, etc, but she wasn't having it... she wanted to be a tiger.
